At the Transfer Station, you're able to dispose of general waste, recycling and glass, greenwaste, small quantities of motor oil, and old IT equipment and appliances.
Recycling (glass, plastic with 1, 2 or 5 triangles and paper/cardboard) at the Stratford Transfer Station is free to deposit. All other items will require a fee.
Please follow the directions of the staff in all circumstances.
Noxious weeds and invasive species (agapanthus, ginger plants, box thorn, Norfolk pines) - General waste
Plants that have been sprayed - General waste
Branches (over 10cm in diameter) - Chop up for firewood
Treated timber, sawdust - General waste
Cleanfill (concrete, stones, rubble, soil) - General waste
Battery disposal and recycling
How to safely dispose of batteries and vapes:
Drop off batteries, battery embedded or small devices at the Stratford Transfer Station.
Small quantities (up to 500g) of household batteries are free to drop off at the Transfer Station, however some e-waste items, like cell phones, will incur a small fee.
Return used vapes to participating stores that offer a take-back programme.
