What is in a property file?
A property file contains information available about the building and land at a certain address. Mostly they include:
- Any building consents
- Any resource consents
- Any other information we have that is relevant to the property
We understand these requests can be urgent and aim to respond to these within five working days.
Note: This is not a Land Information Memorandum (LIM). LIMs are more in-depth and have a wider scope of information.
You can ask for a copy of a property file if you are considering purchasing a property, applying for a building or resource consent, or for insurance claim purposes.
How do I make a request?
You can request Property File information by:
- Emailing stratforddc@stratford.govt.nz
- Phoning 06 765 6099
- Visiting Council’s friendly Customer Service Centre at 63 Miranda Street, Stratford
- Writing to Stratford District Council, PO Box 320, Stratford, 4332
Please be advised that property files are supplied electronically, either through an emailed link or on a USB for collection. A hard copy viewing service is not offered.
