Send ya lids off to School!
Stratford District Council (SDC) is running a competition called “Send ya lids off to school” for schools and early childhood education centres (ECE) within the Stratford district.
The competition calls for schools and ECE to collect clean plastic milk and cream bottle lids of all colours from their school community.
To be entered into the competition, schools and ECE need to:
- Be within the Stratford district boundary
- Confirm their participation to SDC’s Waste & Water Education Officer by 16 August 2024
- Be prepared and able to collect clean milk and cream bottle lids from their students, school community, and members of the public
- Be able to provide an accurate number of the families enrolled at their school or ECE that live at a single address.
The participating school or ECE, that collects the highest number of bottle lids for each family that attends the school or ECE, will win a $1,000 voucher for a local business of their choice. For the purposes of this competition, a family is counted as one family if they live at a single address.
At end of term 3, between 1 October and 4 October 2024, SDC will complete a halfway count of collected milk and cream bottle lids and after that point will let participating schools and ECE know how their collection numbers compare to others participating.
- The competition period runs during terms 3 and 4 of 2024, starting at 7am Monday 22 July and ending at 4pm Friday 13 December.
- Prizes can't be exchanged for cash or different products or services.
- SDC will contact the winner via phone or email by 4pm Wednesday 18 December. Winners will have 7 days to respond before the prize is instead given to the school or ECE who received the next highest number of lids collected for each family enrolled.
- By entering the competition, participants give SDC permission to use the name of their school or ECE and to take photos of staff and / or students as part of future promotional and marketing material.
