High levels of bacteria have been detected in the Pātea River

Pātea River water-quality test results show high levels of harmful bacteria are present in the water, affecting recreational swimming holes in King Edward Park. At the moment, it's not safe for you or your pets to enter the water. Before swimming always check TRC.govt.nz/Can-I-Swim-Here
