Mayor's Taskforce for Jobs Roadshow coming to Stratford!
There's going to be a careers day with a difference in Stratford, as the state-of-the-art Mayor's Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ) Careers Coach rolls into town on Tuesday 5 September.
The Careers Coach will be parked at te_heru mapara (formerly Feats) at 65 Juliet Street, Stratford from 9am - 3pm. If you want to explore training and career opportunities, the coach is your one stop shop.
Log in with your cell phone number at one of the 26 kiosks and get access to videos and insights into different careers. If there's an opportunity you want to explore further, click "I'm interested" and you'll get info sent direct to your device. When you're done, your cell number will be deleted from the system.
MTFJ Workforce Coordinator Samantha Vega, who'll be there on the day, says the roadshow is a fun way to get a taste of different careers.
"It's not about sitting down and listening to someone talk. The coach is interactive, and you get to explore what's interesting to you," says Samantha.
"Through our MTFJ Workforce Programme, we might be able to provide support with industry training, driver licences, and the tools, equipment, and clothes you’ll need when you start work. So, come and visit the roadshow and then have a chat with me. We may be able to help!"
Stratford’s Workforce Programme is a Mayors Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ) initiative. The programme supports rangatahi who are not employed or enrolled in training or education, as well as those aged over 25 years who are disadvantaged in the workforce and need support to gain employment.
