Positive Ageing

The Stratford Positive Ageing Group was made up of representatives from community organisations who predominantly supported elderly people in the district. Over a number of years they worked together representing and delivering information forums for our senior citizens, however this group has now disbanded.

Stratford District Council will continue to work closely with these community organisations aiming to identify and address issues concerning elderly people in the district.

Keep an eye out for our events

Two forums focusing on issues affecting our senior citizens will be held each year. The forums will be followed by a light luncheon.

We will also celebrate the International Day of the Older Person on 1 October every year. This is either a morning tea or afternoon tea with entertainment.

The next forum is being held Thursday 21 March 2024. We'll advertise this in the Stratford Press, on our website, on local radio and on our Stratford Positive Ageing Facebook Page - follow us here.
