Recent water quality test results show that the Pātea River at the Scout Den is not suitable for swimming
Harmful bacteria can sometimes be detected in the Pātea River, affecting recreational swimming holes running through King Edward Park.
When this happens, water contact may be harmful to humans and animals. Signage advising people of the risk will be erected at the river - but it's important to always check whether you can swim before you take a dip. Please always check the Taranaki Regional Council (TRC) website to see the most up to date water quality testing and results.
We'll update this Public Notice with new updates when we receive them.
