The Stratford Community House is a central point for social service groups. The Stratford Community House was the innovation of the Stratford District Council and Bishop's Action Foundation. The Community House opened its doors on 17 January 2011.

Stratford Health Centre's premises were formally opened by the Prime Minister Helen Clark in August 2000. The health centre was built on the site of the old Stratford Hospital. Outpatient clinics are held on a regular basis. Clinics held by private practitioners include doctors, midwifery, podiatry, ante natal classes, Hearing Association, electrolysis, X-ray.
