Aqua: Tuesdays and Thursdays 9.30am-10.30am.
Aqua is a type of low impact aerobic exercise done in the pool. It is gentle and low impact on joints due to the water supporting 85% of body weight, making it a great way to exercise for all ages. As the water provides 5 times more resistance than air and it is a full body workout, it makes Aqua one of the highest fat burning exercises.
Aqua Pump: Wednesdays 9.30am-10.30am and Sundays 10.00am-11.00am
Aqua Pump - is similar to Aqua but is faster and is more cardio based than Aqua. This class also uses High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) principles to help burn more calories in the session.
We try our best to provide three lanes for public lane swimming when possible. Please visit the TSB Pool Complex Facebook page for the Main Pool Bookings timetable.
Learn to Swim and Swim Squads
Swimming lessons and Squad coaching are provided by Flyers Swim School and Swim Squad plus the Silver Jets Swim School. Please phone the pool for details on how to contact the swim schools for more information.
At the weekends, toys and inflatables are put out for recreational use, 1-5pm. During the school holidays, this is available 11am-3pm on weekdays as well.
Our Toddler and Middle pools are available for all kinds of recreational use. We have a play slide over the toddlers pool and a bubble machine over the middle pool. There are also climbing walls in the big pool.
In summer there is a children's beach area outside.
School Aquatic Programmes
Various aquatic programmes from swimming lessons to water safety programmes. Water polo, Aquaerobics and snorkelling can be organised for school groups of any age and numbers.
Please arrange to speak with the TSB Pool Swim School Coordinator to discuss what we can do for your school. Our Water Safety Programmes are also available for schools.
Water Safety Programmes
Our Water Safety Programme focuses on safety in all kinds of water, as well as how to correctly put on a life jacket, how to react in an emergency and what kind of emergency items are needed when heading out to sea. We have all the necessary equipment, including a small inflatable boat, to allow people to experience different emergency scenarios. This program is aligned with Coastguard New Zealand, which means once pupils complete the course, they are presented with a certificate. Schools and any community groups are welcome.
Children under 8 years of age must be actively supervised by an adult over 16 years of age, at all times.
All times are subject to change.
