Beauty Therapy, Tattooing and Piercing Bylaw
Notice is hereby given that the Stratford District Council adopted its Beauty Therapy, Tattooing and Piercing Bylaw at its Ordinary Meeting held on Tuesday 12 December 2017. The Bylaw became operative on 31 January 2018. The exception is Clause 8 of the bylaw, relating to businesses that require a licence to operate, which becomes operative from 1 July 2018.
The purpose of the bylaw is to promote and protect public health by requiring those persons and premises providing beauty therapy treatments, skin and piercing of the body and tattooing to comply with minimum standards and reduce the risk of injury and transference of communicable diseases. A licence to operate certain services which carry higher risk to the customer will be required from 1 July 2018. This includes new and current operators.
