Join in Stratford's 2018 Scarecrow trail.

After the huge success of the inaugural event in 2017, the Scarecrow Trail is once again returning to Stratford.

Samara Preston, Community Development Officer, is excited to be organising the event again. “We had 57 entrants last year. Some of the Scarecrows were really unexpected, out of the box and creative, so we are looking forward to see what people come up with this year. “
There are five categories with prizes up for grabs - Pre-school, Primary school, High School, Business and Open, with an additional prize across all of the categories for the best use of Recycled Materials.
Registration forms are now available to be downloaded from Council’s website - or alternatively forms can be picked up from the Stratford District Library or Stratford i-SITE.
The Scarecrow trail is open from Friday 26 October to Sunday 4 November for members of the public to jump on the trail and find all the Scarecrows throughout town.
“This event is fun for the whole family, from creating the Scarecrows, to finding them scattered throughout town. It was truly amazing last year to see so many members of the community taking part in the trail, and we hope to see even greater involvement this time,”explains Samara.
To assist with creating the Scarecrows, Council will hold a Scarecrow building workshop during the next School Holidays. For more details around the workshop, keep an eye out for the school holiday programme in the coming weeks.

Registrations close 12 October 2018.
