The Stratford District Youth Council, along with the Taranaki Pioneer Village, are dying to bring you an eerie night of the grim and haunted on Saturday 27 October.
The newly appointed Youth Council are excited to be working on their first event, and invite members of the public to join in to bring Taranaki Pioneer Village to life after dark, with stories of spurned lovers, the living dead and unhappy souls.
“The Youth Council have wanted to do something for Halloween for some time,” explains Peter Boyd, Community Development Officer, “and many who have visited Pioneer Village have thought it would make a great backdrop for this type of event. It’s a fantastic way to make the most of a great local asset in a different light that’s spine tingling creepy.”
Auditions are taking place next Monday 3 September from 4.30pm to 6.30pm at the War Memorial Centre, and Stratford District Youth Councillors are looking for volunteers to be performers, production designers and support crew to help bring the night alive.
In addition to performers and support crew, Stratford District Youth Council are looking for donations of costumes or materials for costumes to help bring the performance to life.
