If you wish to take part in this years Anzac Day Commemorations, please see of the following timetable of events.
Will be held at the Cross of Sacrifice outside the War Memorial Centre, Miranda Street at 5.55am. Returned Servicemen and women, Service members and members of the public should assemble beforehand and medals should be worn.
The parade commences at 10.30am. It will start from 2 Fenton Street, proceeding along Broadway to end at the War Memorial Centre for the start of the Civic Service. All wishing to take part should assemble on the corner of Miranda and Fenton Street at 10.15am.
Civic Service & Wreath Laying
Following the parade a Civic Service will be held at the War Memorial Centre, Miranda Street at 11.00am. The wreath laying ceremony will be held at the Cross of Sacrifice following the civic service. A cup of tea will be provided following the wreath laying.
Anyone is welcome to attend.
The Hall of Remembrance will be open on Anzac Day, between 6.00am and 3.00pm.
Crosses will be placed on the war veterans’ graves in the Pioneer Cemetry and RSA sections of Kopuatama Cemetry. Additional crosses will be available at the gates of the cemetery on Anzac Day for any families wanting to give recognition to veterans buried in other sections. Alternatively families can collect a cross from the Stratford District Council, Miranda Street, Stratford. For more information please contact Leanne Richards at Council on 06 765 6099.
