Council's Draft Annual Plan for 2014/15 was approved for consultation at the Council's ordinary meeting on 11 March 2014, with a proposed overall rates rise of 3.15%.
This is 1.48% less than forecast in Council's Long Term Plan and is mostly due to Council being able to negotiate reduced pricing by delaying the construction timeline on the Stratford water treatment plant.
Key projects for 2014/15 see Council continue to bring its water treatment plants up to meet the current Drinking Water Standards, plan the upgrade and extension of the library, and continue strengthening and widening of rural roads.
The first of two public meetings will be held at the War Memorial Centre on 27 March at 7.30pm, with the second being held at the Whangamomona Hall on 8 April at 4.30pm.
The full draft Annual Plan document is available here on Council's website. Hard copies are available from Council's Service Centre and the Stratford Library.
Submission forms are available from Council's Service Centre, Stratford Library or from Council's website. Submissions to the Draft Annual Plan close 4.30pm, Thursday 17 April 2014.
