UPDATE - 9am Monday 13 May:
Repairs were successfully completed overnight and water flow and pressure should now be back to normal.
Some households may need to clear air or discolouration from the water, if so please run your taps for 5 minutes.
If you continue to have a significant loss in flow or pressure please contact council 24/7 on (06) 765 6099.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation while this was underway.
A fault in the water trunk main means an urgent water shutdown will take place tonight, Sunday 12 May at 9.00pm for repairs to be made.
Repairs are expected to be finished by 6am, Monday. During this time some households may experience a reduction in water flow or pressure, and a minimal number of households on the far western side of town may experience complete loss of water.
As a precaution, residents are asked to ensure they have enough drinking water available and are advised this shutdown may take place earlier today if needed.
