Stratford District Council is pleased to share its Draft 2019/20 Annual Plan for Year Two of the Long Term Plan (LTP) 2018-28. This plan outlines the Council’s budget and all its services for the coming year.
Stratford Mayor, Neil Volzke says, “We worked closely with the community in 2017/18 in developing the LTP, setting our direction to maintain and grow facilities, ensuring the Stratford District remains a desirable place to live, work and play.”
“The first year of the LTP has largely been a year of planning and laying the foundations for a number of key projects and initiatives”, said Mayor Volzke. “Looking forward, the next two years will be focused on delivery.”
Chief Executive Sven Hanne said, “Progress on the Council’s residential subdivision off Pembroke Road has been a highlight of the first year. Moving in to Year Two and beyond we look forward to commencing the many other projects set out in the LTP, including the children’s bike park, Stratford Discovery Trail and the new swimming pool, to name a few.”
In March 2019 the Council agreed that there would be no formal consultation on the 2019/20 Annual Plan, as it is not significantly different from what is set out in Year Two of the LTP.
“No changes have been made to levels of service and we have maintained the proposed rates increase of 4.69% as set out in the LTP for Year Two,” said Mr Hanne.
“However, community members can still tell us what they think and have their feedback considered by Elected Members when they make decisions for future planning.”
A full copy of the draft plan is available online here, at the Stratford Library or from Council’s Service Centre on Miranda Street.
