Parks Week is returning to Stratford, and Council has some exciting activities for everyone to enjoy.
Parks Week aims to raise awareness of the value of parks and open spaces, and to get people out of their living rooms and enjoying the outdoors. The week kicks off on Saturday 9 March, with Colour in the Park. Tickets are still available for this colourful event, and can be purchased from the Stratford i-SITE in Prospero Place or online at Eventbrite.co.nz.
If the 5km walk/run is not your cup of tea, try one of the free Boxfit in the Park classes. These boxfit classes will be run in the Rhododendron Dell in King Edward Park throughout the week. These fun and exciting classes are a new addition to the TSB Pool Complex fitness timetable, and are suitable for all fitness levels.
Monday 11 March - 10.45am to 11.30am
Wednesdsay 13 March - 5.15pm - 6.00pm
To see the full timetable of fitness classes available at the TSB Pool Complex, check out their facebook page.
In addition to these two activities, Council will be running a Jungle Hunt around the Three Bridges Trail in King Edward Park. Pick up a form from the Stratford i-SITE or Stratford District Library and get hunting. All completed and returned forms to the Stratford i-SITE by Tuesday 19 March will go in the draw to win prizes.
