"TO SERVE THE DISTRICT AND ITS COMMUNITIES THROUGH ADVOCACY, PROMOTION, SERVICES, FACILITIES AND POSITIVE LEADERSHIP."
Our Vision:
A vision is intended to set a clear target. It is a summary statement of where Stratford should be in twenty years time. The future direction of the Council is aimed at assisting the community in achieving the vision for the District.
Simply stated the Vision for Stratford District is:
“THE SERVICE CENTRE OF TARANAKI”
POPULATION OF AT LEAST 12,000
WITH ABOVE AVERAGE INCOMES
Council should play an active and leading role in promoting this change. This role is seen as one of leadership and facilitation rather than actively getting out there and doing it for the community. In other words Council should be ‘creating and driving opportunities’ for growth.
In practical terms, Council’s role is to lead, support and promote this growth.
It means attracting one new family a week to come and live in the District.
Critical to its success in this role is the promotion of positive attitudes within the community and a willingness to try something new and different.
