Midhirst Old Cemetery closing to visitors during path upgrades
Stratford District Council will be upgrading the pathways at Midhirst Old Cemetery to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility at our district’s oldest cemetery, opened in 1880.
Physical works will start on 22 January 2024 and run through to mid-March, depending on the weather. Because of the nature of the work, the cemetery will be closed to all visitors while the improvements are taking place. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience during this time.
Enhancements to Midhirst Old Cemetery will include the installation of a lime chip entranceway, new concrete paths, improved drainage, and a new bench seat off the main path.
